For lack of a better term I call them yuppie churches.

They don't associate with any organized religion. We have one right near us which is also my polling place.

First Christian Church is not about organized religion; we are all about relationships.


There is another one across the street from them. It's a good gig for people who don't want to work for a living. And tax free as well.

I had a neighbor I posted about who used to be a produce manager at a grocery store until he found religion. He's the guy who went to Haiti to spread the faith and got kidnapped. It was funny as hell since the ransom demand was nothing the church could come up with. I think his wife ended up taking a second mortgage on their house and they passed the collection plate.

The FBI came in and got the ransom paid and he was rescued. His wife made him quit the church and get a job.
