That is something I don't understand. I did read the article previously.

NC never signed up for Medicaid expansion so one would think it would affect people in rural areas who have been laid off.

And the republicans cut unemployment benefits in half here and below the fed requirement of 26 weeks. Which means people could not apply for a fed extension after their state benefit ran out.

It doesn't make sense that they would vote against their own interests.
