The New York Times, citing anonymous sources, reported that a similar subpoena was sent to President Donald Trump's company by the Manhattan district attorney, which is conducting a parallel criminal probe.

They are 2 separate investigations and NYC has not as yet named Ivanka as part of the ongoing investigation against Trump for insurance and bank fraud. That has been going on for a while.

Once the NYT got a hold of Trump's tax returns they matched up the deductions for consulting and saw Ivanka reported the same income from her consulting firm to the penny.

Vance has apparently added that to his investigation against Trump Inc. for NYC since his companies would have had to file a NYC corporate return.

Vance doesn't have the jurisdiction to go after Ivanka for tax evasion since that is for NYS and not NYC. It is complicated since NYS collects for NYC's residence tax.
