This likely relatively close loss will keep Trump

I foresee a civil war in the Returdican party. Either Trumpianism is purged, or he probably will run again in 2024. With the party in chaos. If the purge is successful then folks like Sasser, and Romney will lead the way back for the Returdicans.

Agree Biden probably doesn't run for a 2nd term. Then it becomes a case whether Kamala becomes infected (i.e. just came from a Covid thread) with moderate positions. If so she has a good chance of making a successful run.

Meanwhile Biden has to attract enough of what's left of the Returdicans to work with him in the Senate.

Major issues outside of Covid include repairing:

The economy, while at the same time balancing/addressing the debt.

Foreign policy, which is a shambles due to Trumpy. Including the effects on global trade which feeds back into the economy.
