If it had been a double blinded placebo controlled international Outcome trial ...ie an R-IT trial then I assume they could have got a patent for CV risk reduction ....but doubt if they could on JELIS alone

Amarin was indeed saved by the bell in that the Japanese have predilection for treatment and treatment plus studies... the concept of a placebo seems alien to the throughout the 80's and 90's...OTW Amarin would have been late at the European dining table.
