Like it or not the protests and violence are playing right into Trump's hands.

Biden needs to come out forcefully and denounce the ongoing violence.

And to urge protests to remain legal - as in respect curfews.

Predictable for a gun culture society. What are the cops suppose to do? Check for permits to carry?

The gun laws/ordinances locally for me in NC are ridiculous. If I tie up my dog outside, and it starts to bark excessively, a neighbor can report it, and I can be cited for violating the noise ordinance. If I crank up my chain saw past 9PM, I'm in violation of the noise ordinance, and can be cited. In general any loud noise is forbidden past 11 PM . However, if I go into my back yard with a gun, firing off high grain cartridges that makes it sound like a cannon going off, rattling the neighbor's windows, I can shoot the gun right up to 11:59:59 PM. Up to 3 times a month on my property, as if anyone would be counting.

I have no problem with someone having a hand gun for home defense, or a hunter having a bolt action rifle. But this going out armed because you are afraid of getting mugged in a Walmart parking lot at 7 PM is pig shit. Likewise carrying them around a protest. Need guns for a "well formed Militia"? Well, the last time the NC Governor called out the State Militia was during the last Tuscarora Indian rebellion.
