Scarcely. Trump wasted at least a month denying it was a big problem. And then he went forward giving senseless pressers in which he touted quacks like the voodoo doctor, pushed hydroxychloroquine therapy, which has been shown to be ineffective and potentially dangerous, and suggested people ingest disinfectants.

NO other person who might conceivably have become president would have done any of that.
