There is a trader on the other ihub board, NN. He is an excellent trader and his instincts are great but his technical understanding seems to be lacking, even though he produces some interesting longer term charts at times. But short term he mostly makes money on instincts, ie market goes up, he reduces calls and hedges with puts, and vice versa. Very nimble.

But basically he is trading the ranges. I feel like a lot of the value area concepts, a person can get somewhat close to by just looking at the chart and eyeballing the range where price has spent a large majority of the time recently.

If there is one area I feel like I've improved in the past year, it is identifying when we are in a balancing scenario earlier that I might have in the past. I will sometimes trade when it is balancing, if I can figure out (or have an idea) of where the pinball will inflect.
