A biotech exec saying this is an indication that a trial is recruiting slower than expected. He is avoiding just coming out and saying this. (Same with his other explanation, about being "careful". It's an excuse for, simply, slower than expected recruiting).
Not a big surprise in biotech, and particularly with this patient population. And slow recruitment is one of the most benign risks we face. You appear a bit exercised about it, which surprises me. Given your experience in clinical trials, do you forsee a problem? (I just see slow recruiting.)
