when you worked on the sanswire project, was there ever any thought about making the sans transparent, or at least translucent, or semi-transparent, rather than opaque, in order to let light to penetrate the inside of the lifting body, and so that solar cells could be used to line the inside of the lifting body as well as the outside? would the increase in solar energy gathering potential make up for the probable increase in weight?

it seems to me there might also be increased heat to the lifting gas as well, but could that actually be an advantage?

like many here, i enjoy your posts very much, especially your first-person war stories....i am a lawyer (assistant district attorney) but when i was a kid back in the 50s and 60s, i always wanted to be a space scientist...
