Due to (finally) recent increased testing, USA estimated/perceived mortality rate decreased from 5.6% to less than 1.6% over last two weeks of those patients infected. This is without most people under 60 even being tested. If testing continues to increase in all age groups, estimated/perceived mortality should decrease to 1% or less, dependent on comprehensiveness of testing amongst population. This is bringing down mortality toward pandemic flu seasons or eventually potentially lower.

Germany was on it right away (they even developed the highly accurate WHO test) and Germany mortality rate is only 2.67 tenths of 1% at this time. The USA’s recent panic and consequences thereof could have been greatly minimized or avoided with earlier recognition of need for prompt mass testing, early treatment, tracking and efficient quarantining.
