I am clueless what they are doing with milk and bread during a snow storm. I usually run out for bourbon.
They also buy eggs. So presumably they intend to make French toast. And eat it in front of a blazing fire during the snowstorm. Cozy.
But this emergency is different. I went to the store today. Two stores, actually: Whole Foods and Acme. At both, people seemed to be snapping up a ton of pasta, pasta sauce, and canned tomatoes. I in fact saw no one with quantities of milk, though I wasn't paying all that attention.
And despite the supposed shortage of TP, Acme had plenty, and workers were bringing in more from the back. Naturally nobody buys TP at Whole Foods, so I don't know what the situation was there.
Both stores were quite crowded, though, and probably are even more crowded now that the working day's over.
