The standard treatment for those found to have Covid 19 here(Canada) is to go home and self quarantine. i.e. the same advice given to those with a cold. So far Covid doesn't kill 2%. It's less than 1%

This is an elision. It’s true and yet misses the point. A substantial fraction (abt 10x to 20x CFR) require hospitalization (so 10-20% using your CFR). Typically for supplemental oxygen. Or worse. Much higher percentage will die without such care (and Italy is probably going to make that obvious, albeit too late for us to learn the lesson)

NOTE: Italy is, at the very least, contemplating triage. Essentially letting the very sick die, to have more resources for the less sick.
