Sanswire Networks LLC Names Douglas B. Murch, Lieutenant Colonel, USAF/Retired, as New President
PALMDALE, Calif.--(Business Wire)--GlobeTel Communications Corp. (OTC:GTEM) today announced that,
pursuant to restructuring initiatives announced in Chairman Przemyslaw
Kostro's November 2 letter to shareholders, Douglas B. Murch,
Lieutenant Colonel, USAF (Retired), has been named President of its
wholly owned Sanswire Networks LLC subsidiary, succeeding Bob Jones
who resigned.
Peter Khoury, Chief Executive Officer, stated, "The Sanswire
objectives are important to GlobeTel's long range plans. Entrusting
the future of Sanswire and the Stratellite(TM) development program, as
well as other strategic initiatives within the division, to Doug Murch
means that we are in the hands of a true, proven leader. Doug's
leadership enabled us to move the Stratellite(TM) technology
demonstrator out of the hangar and into the air for its first float
test, and we expect his continued management of the project to keep us
on schedule.
"Furthermore, working together with Doug, Chairman Kostro and I
have also found ways to consolidate certain costs within Sanswire, and
make it a more efficient and effective operation, which should save us
over $1,000,000 in operating costs during the next year," added Mr.

challenges that our mission requires, but the technologies necessary

During Colonel Murch's 24-year Air Force career he served in
critical leadership roles for a variety of high-visibility research
and development programs. As Director of Test, Integration and Launch
for the National Missile Defense programs, Deputy for Test and
Integration for the B-2 Stealth Bomber, Test Manager of 41
avionics/armament test programs for the International F-16 Fighting
Falcon, and as an experienced Flight Test Engineer in the F-15 Eagle,
F-15E Strike Eagle, and T-38 Talon, along with other aircraft, he
brings in depth knowledge of engineering development and test from his
work with a large number of DoD, DOE and NASA aircraft, missile and
space-related systems and facilities.
Additionally, his experience includes the effective engineering
management of a number of large technical teams involving over one
hundred technicians, engineers and contractors in support of over 25
development programs at a time. Able to inspire with vision and drive,
he built innovative technical teams from scratch that created the
foundations for new programs and advances in technology.
Colonel Murch earned a Bachelor's degree in Physics at the
University of Hawaii, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at
the University of New Mexico and a Master's Degree in Public
Administration at Golden Gate University. For the past several years,
he has also served as pastor of a church in Santa Maria, California
with a particular emphasis in mentoring and redirecting young people
into adult life success.
