I was in Tucson when the 'Aspen fire' was burning on Mt. Lemmon. Some days there wasn't much to see. But some days there would be a cloud over the mountain sending down lightning bolts. I've got to imagine that the lightning strikes are compounding the problem by lighting new fires. Sort of a self re-enforcing system.

It was terrible and awesome at the same time.
