Pyrocumulus clouds are relatively common here in wildfires, as the energy release of a forest is very high, more so than brush, but you have the bonus of very volatile eucalyptus that burns almost like gasoline. I have been following the fires there very closely as I am in severl wildland fire fighter groups.
Tomorrow looks like trouble down there.... hundreds of miles of uncontrolled fireline and extreme weather, a lot of infrastructure is going to be gone.
