I swear, either you are using etrade, or the contra is. That is how etrade's 'puter works.

We were a wirehouse, and much of our orders were sent through the wires. Our contra brokers always gave us good executions or they would lose our biz. All our block trades went by phone and I knew everyone personally on the other end of the phone, and I / we get good executions(and I mean we broke bread and drank beer).

Etrade is the wurst dog on the planet. Eshit computer is designed to fill the minimal and then work the order. If you gave me a 1 million share trade, I would work the order via phone.

If I saw 20 trades coming through 20 different accounts through the wires, I would pull them off the wire and start trading them via phone, especially if they were going through a third market. Then I know, our retail was being shorted against. So I started to spread it around, keep the market real.
