the big selloff could indicate disappointment. The larger the selloff dollar and pct-wise, the bigger the disappointment -- sometimes. Sometimes it's just a chart play, or a few big sellers.

Maybe the better question is whether mms would ever have a vested interest in keeping volume or price rises down in a stock

My philosophy is to just be honest and balanced, and let the market decide if it agrees or not.
