I agree but I think you may have misunderstood what she was trying to do and that she was trying to help me work around the issue of insurance coverage and the possibility that insurance companies may require a Statin prescription prior to a vascepa prescription

Mr1979, insurance companies cannot prevent a doctor from writing you a prescription. They cannot prevent you from filling said prescription. What they can do is refuse to reimburse you or front the cost of the prescription.

IMO nothing is lost in trying to get the insurance company to cover it now.

So what, they turn around and deny you saying that you need a statin prescription? OK, then they don't pay for your V script. They won't pay if you don't ask either, so what did you lose?
