Gary, For DCVax-Direct, only Dendritic Cells were extracted from blood through leukapheresis. Those DCs were then frozen and stored (cryopreserved). Following certain schedules or intervals, those dendritic cells were then injected directly into the solid tumors of the cancer patients. When injected directly to that tumor, those dendritics cells picked up the specific tumor antigens.

So even though the tumor mutates, the new injection of Direct dendritic cells into the new tumor would always pick up the new antigens. I think Direct is powerful and flexible in treating cancers because of the ability to pick up the mutated cancers.
