The Baltimore Oriole really is the state bird of Maryland. Have you ever seen one?

They are not a particularly common sight but also not uncommon. They are extremely beautiful and surprisingly small, about the size of a sparrow. They build a very unique nest, a hanging teardrop.

Their most common Maryland habitat is in a park called Camden Yards. And, in the distant past, they were able to hit home runs, throw shut-outs, and even steal second base...
