Hi Dan,

Thanks for your interest in our work. The B+ rating means that, for adults with established cardiovascular disease or who are at high risk of cardiovascular events while being treated with statins, we have high certainty that Vascepa provides a small-to-substantial net health benefit. The rating reflects both the level of potential health benefit/harm associated with a treatment, as well as the degree of confidence we have in the evidence. B+ is a relatively good grade, compared to other treatments we assess.

A full description of our evidence rating system is available here: http://icer-review.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Rating-Matrix-User-Guide-UPDATED-06.30.17.pdf

In addition to assessing treatments’ clinical effectiveness, our reports also explore treatments’ economic value. And in this regard, our draft analysis currently suggests that Vascepa is highly cost-effective and fairly priced for the benefit it provides patients.

Separately, I see you are from St. Louis, as am I. Go Cards!
