They would have to give the Thompson center a major overhaul to pull that off. The Atrium is nothing but wasted space and the upper floors are essentially useless, unless they convert to a motel. I just think it would be better to steer tourists toward the Lakefront rather than the heart of the loop.

Most of the people from the burbs drive and the ones who aren't used to it would probably be put off by sitting in gridlock on the streets and having to pay copious amounts of money to park before they got to the place.

Convention attendees would be the perfect target audience. There's so much more potential at the McCormick location if you bring the lake into play. Water Taxis and shuttles to Navy Pier and the Riverwalk would be pretty cool for those who don't spend every waking moment pissing away their money at a slot machine lol and from those locations, your just an UBER away from the rest that the city has to offer.

It will be interesting regardless of where it goes.
