same here. I remember a time when the TV show with Michael J Fox as Alex P Keaton was on. (I don't recall the name of it) He was a member of the 'Young Republicans'.

I loved the show and told my Mom at dinner one night that I was a Republican. That's one of the few times she laughed in my face and then told me point blank "Honey, you might think some things now that you don't understand, but you definitely are not and never will be a Republican, as much as you want to be."

I'll be damned if she wasn't spot on with her analysis.
