BIEL could have worked a new deal. I have been looking for evidence along these lines but I can't find any. My current assumption is that the Retailer walked away.
These pharmacy retailers make most of their money on medical items "Behind the Counter." "Front End" medical sales are just OK. Even great sales on this product would not have made it compelling for the Retailer to save the deal.
The fact is that these Pharmacy Retailers make more on their convenience items in the "Front End" of the store. They would rather stock more seasonal items, chewing gum, and shampoo. Just walk the store and look at who gets the most shelf space. That tells you where they make their money in "front end" sales. This is precisely why you don't THROW DEALS AWAY!!!!!
Again KN knows this. He is an "A" player. Just has a terrible CEO calling the shots.
