Sum goot bunnynews and duck n' cover.

With this Sundae being Mothers' Day, for those who haven't been keeping track - this is your wake upp kall, I spoke to DaHomeFront regarding delivery of Da99YearOldMomInLaw's M.D. present.

If you recall a recent prior post of mine of last weak (yes, that's tens or hunnerts of thousands of my werds ago), I relayed the tale of bunny woe of a wild rabbit which inhabited DaMomInLaw's backyard until foolishly crossing a fence into the dogged neighbor's yard at knight and meeting its demise by the canines and molars of DaNeighbor's backyard canine a cuppla (now a few) weaks ago.

Well, today there is good news (I hope). One and possibly two baby bunnies have been spotted in DaMomInLaw's backyard, reposing both under the cherry tree and also under a bird feeder where significant seed spillage occurs. One (or both) of the baby buns have been seen in the backyard every day this week. I hope they are just exploring and aren't looking for MomBunny who may have been the one fallen prey to Badd Badd Leroy Brown's junkyard dawg next door. Butt perhaps we'll never know unless they happen to show up with their MomBun if she's still hopping around. The baby bun(s) have been seen nibbling the spilt seedage, so even if MomBun hops no more, mebbe the next generation can survive as orphans.

There are plenny of wild rabbits in the area, so I'm hoping the decedent bun with the canine teef marks is NOTT DaMomBun for the baby bunner(s). If their mom is spotted with them, I'll report back to DaBored.

Now, communications with a neighbor directly across the street from Da99YearOldMomInLaw's bunker has indicated that DaMomInLaw now also hosts a pair of mallard ducks - one male and one female - who have been apparently coming across the street to be fed bread and such from the neighbor who is sadly now forcibly retired from his trade due to a severe lung disease (his wife was nott clear if he has cancer, butt she mentioned 'chemotherapy' and 'rare' so, given his history as a smoker and exposed to asbestos and similar-type dust particles, it may be mesothelioma sadly - nice guy, only late 50s). His wife, while unclear on the exact lung disease, says the prognosis for him is nott good and he's been referred to a Big Hospital hunnerts of miles away from home for further workup.

The guy has been spending his new medically-forced retirement sitting in a lawn chair in his front yard and the two ducks would waddle over from DaMomInLaw's house so he started to befriend them by feeding them bread and such, so they now visit him routinely on sunny warm days (nott today there) when he reposes in his front yard chair, sunning, reading, and watching the traffic and the kids at the local elementary skool whose playground is plainly visible from his yard.

The cross-street neighbor has observed the duck couple always eventually returning to the bushes (nott really hedges, butt kinda-sorta) on the side of DaMomInLaw's howse. So, it appears that, unbeknownst to anyone butt the cross-street duck-feeding neighbor, DaMomInLaw is hosting nott only baby bun(s) in her backyard, butt also a couple of unheard quackers that have ducked-in to bushes along the side of her castle.

I hope the cross-street neighbor is nott as sick as his wife suggests. He's a super nice guy and they keep an eye on DaMomInLaw's howse as there have been a rash of home burglaries, including a home invasion burglary where the occupants were asleep upstairs when the burglars broke in on the first floor. That incident was only one block over; other burglaries of unoccupied residences were also within a few/several block area. So the cross-streeters keep an eye open for DaMomInLaw's howse and also any deliveries, such as the Mom's Day present that is in-transit to her right now. One or both of these cross-streeters also come across the street (actually it's called an avenue, butt it's just a potholed street fancied up with the suffix 'avenue') to visit from time-to-time and amuse the mostly housebound except for medical/dental/hearing aid/podiatric appointments and when she's taken ~OUTT for lunches and dinners MomInLaw [In German I could prolly CONdense the entire portion of the sentence after 'amuse the' into one compound word ending in 'schwiegermutter']. Her two very favorite eats are Village Inn for a late breakfast, brunch, or lunch after an appointment or the Olive Garden for a late afternoon post-appointment lunch or a dinner. Now, there are some great eats in her small city - I've mentioned th, e kickass Japanese and sushi/sashimi joynt, a wonderful Thai place, a decent (for the UppaMidwess) fish place, and three pretty good generalist restaurants/supperclubs. Butt Da99YearOldMomInLaw loves her Village Inn breakfasts and her Olive Garden - for reasons that are hers alone to know. And at 99, I imagine just being able to eat is a huge win in and of itself. Even from an Olive Garden.

And don't ever leave her alone with a half-gallon container of Scwann's Raspberry Rumble ice cream. Being 99 has it's privileges which shall nott be abridged.

So, happy Mothers' Day to any mutha-readers ~OUTT there and reminders to those who have forgotten this Sundae (there is still time to repent and make amends). And a wish of hope for a hopefully still-hopping momma bun to the one (or two) baby bunners, and well wishes to the apparently ducklingless couple living along the side of DaMomInLawHowse. Finally, a vibe of hope for the cross-street neighbor stricken by some lung disease, prolly cancer, prolly nott good - he's a nice guy as is his wife and they deserve to have a healthful, enjoyable retirement - so let's hope he is able to gett well and have many healthy years remaining. As a tradesman, his body has suffered many decades of physical punishment (you'd unnerstan if I tole you his trade, which is a hard yobb!) - lett him have at least a cuppla decades of retirement fun and sleeping in and sitting in the front yard in his chair watching the grade skool playground at recess times.
