Thanks for feedback from DI conversation.
I personally find his remark about Sharpless, to be really very reassuring. I know too much can be read into these things, but I try to anyway!
I always had the impression that Gottleib was first and foremost 'a friend' to BP. And I expected that that would not do NWBO any favors. After all he had a list of paid links to BP, as long as two arms.
I don't suppose any incoming Commissioner will be entirely free of prior industry links, but Sharpless has less than most from what I have read.
As long as we get a level playing field that's all.

I suspect, regarding Gottleib's rather unexpected departure, there is much more than meets the eye.
But we will never know.
Unless perhaps he has come under some sort of particular scrutiny that called for a step down.
I wouldn't wish for any preferential treatment from a new Commissioner. So I'll take 'our friend' to mean 'not prejudiced against us'.
And that's all I would hope for.
If that is not too inaccurate a conclusion to draw, it makes a huge positive difference, at least the way I see it.

FWIW, I don't expect him to make anything more than a slight passing reference to DCVax, if that, at his upcoming UCLA appearance.
