Background
Dr. Richard N. Nottenburg, also known as Rich, Ph.D., has been an Independent Director of Verint Systems Inc. since February 4, 2013. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Multilink Technology Corp. from 1994 to 2003. Dr. Nottenburg served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Sonus Networks, Inc. from June 2008 to October 2010. He was responsible for the strategic direction and management. He served as the Chief Strategy Officer of Motorola Solutions, Inc. from July 2004 to May 2008 and its Executive Vice President from March 2005 to May 2008, Chief Technology Officer from December 2007 to May 2008. He was responsible for shaping Motorola's overall corporate strategy and technology agenda. He led its strategy and corporate development efforts, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, business intelligence, new initiatives and venture capital relationships. Additionally, he oversaw Motorola labs and the early stage accelerator, portfolio, planning & partnerships and architecture & standards teams. He served as a Strategic Advisor to Motorola in the first half of 2004. He served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Motorola. Since 2005, he served as an Executive Vice President of Motorola. Prior to Motorola, he served as the Vice President and General Manager of Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation after its merger with Multilink Technology Corporation in August 2003. He Co-Founded Multi Link Telecommunications Inc. and served as its Chief Executive Officer, he led it from inception, managed all financing activities including a successful initial public offering in 2001 and built successful relationships with top-tier telecommunication customers, including Alcatel, Lucent, Nortel and Tyco. From 1991 to 1998, he served as a tenured Associate Professor at Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California, where he built a successful research program funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the Air Force and industrial sources. In 1984, he joined AT and T Bell Laboratories as a Postdoctoral Member of the Technical staff in the solid-state electronics research laboratory, where he co-invented in 1988 the world's fastest transistor. He served as Chairman of Violin Memory, Inc. since June 6, 2014. He served as the Chairman and Director of Multilink Technology Corp., since 1994. He served as the Chairman of the Board of Multi Link Telecommunications Inc. He has been Independent Director for Violin Memory, Inc., since February 28, 2014. He has been a Director of Aeroflex Holding Corp., since November 2010 and Theatro since January 2014. He serves as a Director of Motorola Solutions Venture Capital. He serves as a Member of the Motorola Equity Investment Board at Motorola Ventures. He serves as a Member of Motorola Equity Investment Board at Motorola Solutions Venture Capital. He is a Director of Q-Sensei Corp. since December 11, 2012 and Sequans Communications S.A. since June 28, 2016. He served as a Director of Microsemi Storage Solutions, Inc. from August 2011 to January 15, 2016. He served as a Director at Sonus Networks, Inc. from June 2008 to October 2010 and Apogee Photonics, Inc. He served as a Director of PMC-Sierra Inc. from August 2011 to January 21, 2016. He served as an Independent Director of Comverse Technology Inc., from December 1, 2006 to September 27, 2011. He served as a distinguished Member of the technical staff and an Interim Department Head in 1990 and is listed as a lucent pioneer of the 1980s. He served as a Member of the Industry Advisory Board at Carmel Ventures. He also served as a Director of Verint Systems Inc. from July 12, 2011 to November 17, 2011. He has authored more than 50 publications and presentations and holds eight U.S. patents. Dr. Nottenburg has earned three Degrees in Electrical Engineering; a BS from Polytechnic Institute of New York, an MS degree from Colorado State University and a Doctorate from the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland.
