Hi Doc, Thank you for your response. I’m glad you found it useful. I strongly believe the highly processed vegetable oils (corn, canola, soybean) are a major contributor to the explosion in chronic diseases today. And you are absolutely correct there is controversy surrounding coconut oil but I believe it’s mostly manufactured. The American Heart Association and more recently a Harvard professor of epidemiology recommended against coconut oil based on the outdated idea that all saturated fats are bad for heart health. The medium chain triglycerides in coconut oil is a type of saturated fat but chemically is quite different from the saturated fat in red meat. MCTs can be easily used by the body as fuel and very little is stored as body fat. It’s interesting to note that the AHA receives funding from Canola oil council and vegetable oil manufacturers. While there is no randomized controlled trials on coconut oil and heart disease, coconut oil and coconut products have long been used by indigenous people in different parts of Asia as food and medicine. I don’t believe heart disease was a major issue for them. Regarding glyphosate, the many lawsuits against the maker of glyphosate is raising awareness about the toxicity of glyphosate. I believe I read somewhere the manufacturer knew about the cancer causing effects but deliberately hid the info. There was a recent report by the Environmental Working Group that found high amounts of glyphosate in oat and wheat products including oatmeal, granola bars, and even in children’s cereal. Buying organic will reduce exposure to glyphosate but does not guarantee no exposure since they found traces even in organic products. Farmers use glyphosate as a drying agent routinely during harvests of crops such as wheat, oats and even beans. Unfortunately, glyphosate is so prevalent in the environment that its effects will last for a long time into the future. You can even find glyphosate in drinking water and there is no dose that is safe. I think glyphosate is one of the most underrated causes of the cancer epidemic we have today. Oatmeal might have been a health food for our parents and grandparents, but I don’t believe it is anymore. There is growing demand for holistic and integrative medicine because some people are getting tired of the “A pill for an ill” model. But there will always be a place for conventional medicine. Conventional medicine will always be the dominant and mainstream medicine thanks to BP. DCVax will hopefully revolutionize conventional cancer treatments and make it more effective and safer.
