There have been publications linking autophagy and sigma-1R. A quick search finds a couple dozen, though of course the recent article is the first one with A273.

Though I'm sure your post just had an unintentional error, the paper was published in Cells not in Cell. Huge difference as Cell is a top 5 journal with a huge impact rating and Cells is not a prominent journal.
