The research seems clear on protein misfolding being a consequence of mitochondrial dysfunction. Mitochondrial dysfunction is not a good thing since the mitochondria is the powerhouse of cells without which they cannot function!

The question is then if that mitochondrial dysfunction can be traced back to vascular issues.

Although restoring mitochondrial function (calcium homeostatis) with A2-73, at least to some extend, is not addressing a root cause it may be quite be useful in slowing progression of dementia.

We are waiting for controlled studies to confirm or otherwise.
