You make good points but I have to take issue with, How many men in business, entertainment, or yes, even politics, are ever fully vetted? - we're not talking about men in business, entertainment and/or just politics, but a person who is president of the U.S. and is supposed to be the leader of the free world.
It still blows my mind that Trump was able to appeal to hatred/fear in so many people in 2016, including holier-than-thou Evangelicals et al. who wear religion on their sleeve and don't seem to mind the character of a person as long as they get what they want.
What's even scarier is many if not most of Trumps supporters in 2016 will stick with him in 2020 not aware or concerned about the damage he has done to the U.S. and if left in office, will continue to do.
