Hey hey now, my first day back to the exercise and she’s already trying to kill me. You’re supposed to take it slowly and ease into it dear. Ease into it ;OD
I used to be a power lifter. I have stretch marks all up and down my legs and arms. I went from 135 to 215lbs in one school year. No drugs! I did this to make the varsity football team, by my junior year. At 5’7 my I had to compensate for my height with my strength. I also competed in Washington once. I ranked 7 out of 21 for my weight category. Not bad for the first time.
I also went to Texas for one summer. I spent that time in the health club running swimming and doing the stair master. I came back to Portland a lean mean 195 lbs. I’ve tried to join clubs here in Ptld a couple of times. I just couldn’t maintain any form of schedule. Now that I make my own schedule I have no excuse. I used to have a very physical job as well. I was lifting climbing crawling and doing it everyday for 6-10 hours. As long as I worked I could abuse my body and still retain shape.(Notice I did not say health)
I wish I had continued to work out those 12 years. I doubt I have the joint pain I do today.
There is really nothing like a good workout. I honestly feel that no matter how physical your daily life may be. It’s that extra-added exercise that does wonders for your body and mind. It’s surprising how your mind clears up after a good workout.
I forgot how much I really missed it. I can’t wait for tomorrow. I may even swim a few laps.
