A possible answer to your question: Why not declare victory now (instead of waiting for the additional grow weeks to complete)? One possible answer, albeit a guess on my part, one of many I could think of, is that they want to demonstrate very clearly how much additional growth the extra two weeks or three or four weeks might bring with the greater than expected density of surviving shrimp. Why might this be important? To demonstrate to potential licensees, partner(s) or any firms considering making a buy out offer, as much data as possible to help any of them determine their own plans for duration of growth cycles, if any shrimp pulled out early towards the end to speed up the last weeks of growth for the remainder, whatever strategies they might want to pursue. Just thinking out loud, but yours is a legit question so I thought to get creative with answers. My answer would seem to be a legit possibility as well, in my opinion the likely one.
