The 'as midterms draw closer' caravan is a Trump wet dream. Yet he is blaming it on the Democrats.

The 'tough at the border' isn't a Democrat appeal-to-the-base drumbeat, is it. That sound is a boost to Trump's ego and own. And blaming someone else for his own creation is a Trump trait, isn't it. Surely if anyone is more likely to have duplicitously boosted the caravan, reason suggests it would more likely be Trump's fans. With Trump's avid support.

Where did Trump get the idea to blame the Democrats? Well, apparently it came from one of his most enthusiastic congressional supporter, Mark Gaetz.

Trump appeared to be referring to a video posted by the Florida representative Matt Gaetz, which he claimed showed women and children being given cash to “storm the US border @ election time”. He suggested without evidence that the source could be “Soros? US-backed NGOs?” referring to George Soros, an American billionaire who is the frequent subject of rightwing conspiracy theories.

So again, surely if anyone in America organized and encouraged this caravan odds are they would have been Trump's friends.

Please take this not as conspiracy theory, but simply speculation based on more facts than can be seen in Trump's blaming the Democrats.
