Manuel Rápalo discusses the announcement by the cities of Seattle and Minneapolis to supplant Columbus Day with Indigenous People’s Day in order to bring awareness to the boarder history and current plight of Native Americans.
Though Veterans Day is worthy in remembrance of so much sacrifice by so many, as a change from Columbus Day i think Indigenous Day, or some such, is closer to the mark for that particular occasion. Seems there is more than one quality reason for giving more people more time off, eh. LOL
