The ammo is .30-06 hardly any recoil and it is extremely accurate. After I fired one that my friend owned years ago I tracked one down for myself.

The one drawback in the war was the ping sound when the clip ejected after the last shot.

The Germans figured it out and would aim in the direction of the ping.

The Americans were no dummies so they'd keep a spare empty clip to toss against a rock then fire after they saw the Germans fire.
