Long,
For the most part this board is different. Granted we have many of the same players from the RB board over here and as a result some of the same problems. Over the years I have been to a lot of boards, on a W I D E range of topics. There will always be some level of bickering and flaming between some of the regulars on any board on any topic.
My reference to other boards I've been to was commenting on more than just a few threads or topics. By and large you can log in to ANY thread on ANY topic on RB, SI and Yahoo...review any group of 100 consecutive posts...and three quarters of them will be gainsaying of the previous post. Anarchy defined. Only rarely is there relevant commentary on the topic at hand.
As I have said before, Frank is learning "on the job" how to be a moderator. One of the toughest things to learn is to "pick your battles". Frank is actually doing a fair job here. He listens to advice from his advisors and does learn from his mistakes. Kbob is making things hard right now because he needs to deflect the negative attention raised by his posts on his involvement with a very questionable situation. Gary, not being the type to back down, could make things even harder by taking Kbob on head to head here on this board.
I have asked Gary publicly to help keep this board free of a p***ing contest by responding to Kbob's attacks in a more appropriate forum. Gary has agreed. I now also ask that Kbob not launch any more assaults here on this board. He can freely blast away in the parking lot here at IHUB or on the RB board if he so desires. He should also continue to present relevant articles, just leave out the PA associated with it. We all benefit from his post of the article in post #440. I would have felt better about him leaving off the portion after the link to the article, but it was too late to edit it and IHUB admin does not want to get into editing individual posts themselves. As a result Frank and I felt that Gary should be allowed ONE response to Bob's repeat of a personal opinion, thus we did not remove Gary's response.
Although I am certain that Matt is keeping an eye on this board he only interscedes when boards or chairman are out of hand. Unless a post is deleted Matt would have no cause to act.
I personally take offense at the comparison to the AVBC2 board. I for one will not tolerate this board becoming either a hypers or a bashers paradise. Our current situation is the result of the actions of one person... deliberately making a "test" of the rules and ready to "instantly" respond with complaint and accusations when the "test" is failed. Any way that Frank choose to deal with that post would have resulted in a problem. I believe Frank wisely choose the lesser of the two evils by deleting the post and letting IHUB admin make the final disposition. Had he allowed it to go unchallenged, a precedent would have been set concerning personal attacks on this board.
The reason I am posting this is to prevent the establishment of a precedent based on the restoration of that post by Ihub admin. If anyone thinks that anyone is an idiot, imbecile, moron or any other derogatory remark... don't post that comment. Refute the point(s) they make (or try to), but leave the personal stuff out of it. If you fail to follow this your post will be deleted. If you're lucky you may get a chance to edit the post and remove the PA...but don't count on it.
Now for something about the company. That Frank is getting stonewalled by TG is very disconcerting. This is exactly the kind of thing that TG's detractors have accused him of in the past when things turned ugly. And any way you paint it things are pretty ugly right now.
Will AVBC be one of the 75% of businesses that ultimately fail?
According to the SBA more than half of all small businesses fail in the first 2 years. Three quarters don't make it past five. I would suspect that the numbers for the OTCBB are similar or worse than these figures.
