Not too many people were a fan of going back to war after WWI and Hoover's train wreck of tariffs.

Henry Ford wanted no part in the war. Doesn't paint him as a hero but he finally got on board.

Conix is just revisionist history to suit her twisted agenda about socialists and Russia. Obviously no link was provided to back up the BS.

She probably has a framed picture of Joe McCarthy somewhere.

In any event Roosevelt knew we were eventually going to have to get engaged and put the US economy on a war footing prior to Pearl Harbor.

If you look at the tax rates prior to the war you should be able to figure it out.

Congress wasn't on board but starting in 1936 Roosevelt started increasing the tax rate. Coinciding with Hitler's ascension into power.

The only thing Roosevelt needed was a trigger to get Congress on board. I'll leave it to the conspiracy nut cases to say Roosevelt knew about Pearl Harbor but didn't do a thing.

My dad who was born in 1911 from Springfield Ma obviously knew his history as well. He figured we were going to war again and enlisted prior to Pearl Harbor.
