riaguy - I agree with everything you said except about Anavex's science, which is still not proven in late-stage human trials (Anavex has only done a small safety/MTD study )and has never been subject to peer review. I caution all that many compounds look great in preclinical animal models only to fail in mid-to-late stage human trials. Diseases of the central nervous system like Alzheimer's and Rett are incredibly complex and involve many factors that do not affect mice, such as the environment, lifestyle and co-morbidities like cardiovascular disease. Whatever anyone thinks of TGD or SR-1 as a target, we all want to see the emergence of effective treatments. I just don't have any faith that Anavex's management has the ability to execute effectively.
