I like this comment I read.

Since today’s comedians, for the most part, serve the same function now as that from the “Court Jester” in medieval times, what do the “pearl clutchers” expect when they invite a modern day jester to the their “court,” aside from fainting couches. Al least this event has the chance, however unlikely, to get more people to focus on the malfeasance of the Republi-con party as well as Putin’s Puppet in the White House, and less on the propaganda organs with which they usually subscribe..
