I have to disagree. My background is almost 20 years investing in the cell phone wars, which is like the situation here. There are 3 companies who followed the similar infringement- Interdigital, Qualcomm and VHC, but not the same path. In each case, the manufacturer was sued rather than Verizon, Sprint, ATT, ect. We wont know for sure until the testimony is revealed, as to which side was notified first- manufacturer or distributor. However, this will be the first time I have ever seen the food chain being sued, instead of the farmer. The case is interesting because of that fact, hasnt been done before, and could be a monster if they can link the two at the end. Then the $800MM settlement/court decision I predicted becomes at least twice the size. I think still this is a settlement ploy to max out money sooner than later, but we will see.
