You actually have that backwards. A wholly owned subsidiary's financials (while distinct) are part and parcel of the parent company and have to reported on a consolidated basis.

If ANDI wholly owned Utopya Innovations Inc., under GAAP Utopya's numbers would be ANDI's and have to be reported AS ANDI on a consolidated basis.

But since they aren't it is just another clue that ANDI doesn't own Utopya Innovations Inc.
