Jason Steinberg's previous smart phone company was a bust

I'm sure most people on this forum already know who Jason Steinberg is. He's the tall guy from the photos at the CES Conference back in January.



He has shown up in other Utopya photos as well

Jason Steinberg is the CTO and Co-Founder of Utopya Innovations Inc.

I thought it was interesting that he hides his past on LinkedIn so I decided to dig into his past a little bit to see what he was hiding.

What we do know from his LinkedIn page is that he went to school at Rockland Community College and he lives in New York. Using those two big clues I tracked him down.

Jason Steinberg was the Sales and Marketing Executive at Comet Core Inc.

Comet Core Inc is a start up smart phone company that had a forward looking business plan to create a buoyant water resistant smart phone operating off the Android 7 operating system that would be low priced at $259.

Comet Core Inc was formed in 2015 and raised over $259,358 in funds on Indiegogo to bring their smart phone idea to market

The smart phone never made it to market and the comment section on IndieGoGo page is flooded with angry investors asking for their money back.

Some of the comments on the IndieGoGo page even make note about how Jason changed his LinkedIn page removing Comet Core Inc and replacing it with Utopya.



It is no wonder that Jason hides his past experiences on his LinkedIn page. Before co-Founding Utopya Innovations Inc he was part of a failed smart phone start-up. That doesn't look good when trying to sell Utopya as the next big smart phone company of the future.

It looks like Comet Core Inc was refunding many of the customers but it is not known if they will be able to refund everybody. New comments asking for refunds continue to roll in daily.
