Our narrowband Time-Division Synchronous CDMA (TD-SCDMA)
baseband chip and software products offer cost effective integration
of TD-SCDMA capability into GSM wireless terminals. Two modem
designs support voice as well as high rate data up to 384kbps.
One is fully compliant with the CWTS TD-SCDMA System for Mobile
(TSM) standard. The other is fully compliant with the UMTS TDD
1.28Mcps (LCR-TDD) 384kbps class of UE service. Both designs can
be integrated with existing GSM/GPRS IC solutions to add cost-effective
TD-SCDMA functionality, while accelerating time-to-market. The modem
can also be implemented as a bolt-on ASIC. Manufacturers of smart
phones, communicators or PDAs can offer multimode GSM/TD-SCDMA
user equipment with minimal added development time, cost and risk.
The complete TD-SCDMA baseband modem chip design
includes the physical layer chip, Layer 1 control, Layer
2/3 protocol software and interface to a TDD radio. A
comprehensive reference platform, integration services,
and software development kit reduce integration time
and enable rapid product development.
55MHz of unpaired spectrum have recently been
designated for TD-SCDMA deployment in China
with 100MHz more earmarked for a later date.
Recommendations for designating more bands
will be discussed in WRC-2006 with more unpaired
spectrum possible.
