I attribute it to California's curious deer management practice of allowing bucks only to be shot, so their are herds and herds of does with no fear of humans, the average alfalfa field here has a herd of deer on it every day. The wolves will manage the herd just fine... easy pickings, for now anyway. I think they are as adaptable as coyotes.


That makes no sense. When I lived in MA you were entitled to a lottery for a doe tag just to cull the herd.
