and found no usage of the term "RAS".

Server management is a form of RAS. The pages I linked to had scores of this. Another page I linked to mentioned features such as:

- N+1 redundant hot-swap power supplies (N=2)
- N+1 fans
- ECC on memory and caches
- Memory chip spare
- Automatic de-configuration of memory and processors
- Service processor to monitor system status

These are also RAS features; although, some of them are already becoming standard on mainstream servers. However, I don't think you'll see any Opteron systems with memory chip spare, since the Opteron memory controller doesn't support it.
