LOL, never heard of an F-52. But not an F anything. He was an Air to Surface trainer. Simulated attacks on surface ships. A lot of electronic warfare and simulation, including live fire. His personal jet (didn't belong to him, but was assigned to him) was on an NCIS episode, however, he was not the pilot, someone else took the glory.

F-52, too funny. I wanted to be a fighter pilot, but at the time the Navy did not want anyone with 20/20 eye sight.
