Verizon and Pfizer pay slightly above normal dividends. I prefer growth issues that pay market rate dividends, about 1% to 2% nowadays. My experience is that reaching for yield, even a little bit, is a mistake. Reaching a LOT for yield is for idiots... which is to say most IHUBers. Again, they all think they can sell before The Reckoning.
A huge majority of investors have only known falling interest rates (since 1980 or so). Rates do seem to be inching up now. I follow them very closely... and with fear.
