I don't see the expiration of the ROFR as being a game changer. I doubt that LQMT has developed or acquired sufficient IP, which does not infringe CIP patents, since the expiration of the Capture Period Extension (Feb. 5, 2016). Consequently, I don't see Apple being interested in exercising its option.
However, a change in the situation may be that Eontec might license its IP in the field of CE to LQMT after the expiration of the ROFR. That might revive Apple's interest in LQMT and/or create interest in other CE manufacturers. But, what will we have to give to Eontec - nothing is free in this world.
